This Super Bowl Sunday, feel Ernie the Elephant’s pain as he awkwardly struggles to run on a treadmill – he’s much more our speed than the other athletics we’ll witness during the big game. Ernie the Elephant is one of the year’s most popular commercial characters and created completely in CG – no animal training required!
This is the eighth commercial featuring Ernie in an ongoing collaboration between the Wonderful Agency and MPC. Colorist Ricky Gausis graded the campaign, Ryan McDougal and Benji Davidson led visual effects and Rob Hodgson creative directed. MPC also provided visual effects and grade for the popular Wonderful Halos “Good Choice, Kid” campaign during the 2016 Halloween season.
MPC is a global leader in color grading and visual effects, with recent creature animation projects including WWF’s “Tiger In Suburbia” ad, Warner Brother’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Disney’s The Jungle Book, which is currently nominated for the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
Notable color grading credits include the FKA twigs x Nike “Do You Believe in More?” video, Golden Globe-winning series Atlanta and Oscar-nominated film 20th Century Women.
