As we bid a fond adieu to one of basketball’s most exciting and successful stars, Kobe Bryant, who plays his last game this week, Wieden+Kennedy Portland and director Mark Romanek send him off in style with a commercial for Nike called “The Conductor.”
The anthemic film features “haters” from the Lakers’ fiercest rivals, devoted fans of the Celtics, Kings, Pistons, Knicks, Bulls, Thunder and more who jeer at Kobe as he exits the court holding his head up high.
The irony is far from lost because they will probably miss him and his game most of all. MPC LA helped bring this emotive film to life including extending the stadium crowds in over 40 shots.
