Legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott and Pulitzer Prize winning author Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old Men) have joined forces in the motion picture thriller THE COUNSELOR, starring Michael Fassbender, Penélope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem, and Brad Pitt. McCarthy, making his screenwriting debut and Scott interweave the author's characteristic wit and dark humor with a nightmarish scenario, in which a respected lawyer's one-time dalliance with an illegal business deal spirals out of control.

MPC VFX Supervisor Charley Henley and VFX Producer Philip Greenlow worked closely with Director Ridley Scott, Editor Pietro Scalia and Production VFX Supervisor Richard Stammers to compliment the photography and enhance the special effects work with subtle, photo real VFX.

The Environment team created several DMP vista extensions for the desert environments shot in Spain and MPC’s compositing teams worked on blood and gore enhancements in a number of sequences including the “Bolito” scene and muzzle flashes in 2 gun fights. Additional work includes a CG hare, monitor inserts, signage changes and other cosmetic fixes.

The Counselor is out in theatres in the US on 25th October 2013.
