MPC NY Helps Boost Pizza Hut’s Homesick Alien for Droga5

In a new spot from Droga5 for Pizza Hut, one of the brand’s ‘bragspersons’ (in which others besides Pizza Hut staffers brag about how good the product is) turns out to be a forlorn, homesick alien pining for his homeland. He’s been marooned on Earth for years, but hey, at least there’s great pizza here, he says with a frown on his face.

MPC helped bring this comic spot to life, providing visual effects clean up and color grading.

Writing on the Campaign US web site, Miriam Tremelling of consumer ratings firm Ace Metrix calls it “the third most attention-grabbing of all pizza ads from the past year, and highest-scoring Pizza Hut ad in this measure. Breaking away from the mold of product-focused or offer-driven quick-serve restaurant ads, it’s one of the more offbeat spots we’ve seen in the category in a long time.”
