New spot for Pacific Life makes waves with help of VFX by MPC

The Pacific Life campaign revolved around telling stories of multiple families evolution over time using the vehicle of the water droplets that stream off of Pacific Life’s iconic whale. Unlike all of Pacific Life’s previous campaigns that all used live action whale breach photography in order to tell their story, MPC adopted a full CG approach to allow the camera to “capture” macro water droplet moments right next to the body of the whale.

Except for the footage that became the center of each animated droplet, all imagery was created fully in CG requiring the team to build photorealistic skies, water, water droplets and, of course, the iconic whale.
